چکیده

The processing type is usually a fixed property of an enterprise system that is decided when the architecture of the system is designed, prior to implementing the system. This choice depends on the non-functional requirements of the system. These requirements are not fixed and can change over time. In this paper, we introduce the concept of a middleware that is able to adapt its processing type fluently between batch processing and single-event processing. By adjusting the data granularity at runtime, the system is able to minimise the end-to-end latency for different load scenarios. Keywords–adaptive middleware; message aggregation; latency; throughput

Design and Implementation of RFID Middleware System for Ubiquitous Learning Environment using Large Scale Data

In this paper, the RFID middleware system that can process bulk data in real time has been designed and implemented. The characteristics of this middleware system support the following points: Expandability and integration of infrastructure, processing the bulk data coming from heterogenous readers in real time, management of the integrate process, Java based XML, and lightweight-oriented techn...

Access control in ultra-large-scale systems using a data-centric middleware

The primary characteristic of an Ultra-Large-Scale (ULS) system is ultra-large size on any related dimension. A ULS system is generally considered as a system-of-systems with heterogeneous nodes and autonomous domains. As the size of a system-of-systems grows, and interoperability demand between sub-systems is increased, achieving more scalable and dynamic access control system becomes an im...

Real-time damage detection of bridges using adaptive time-frequency analysis and ANN

Although traditional signal-based structural health monitoring algorithms have been successfully employed for small structures, their application for large and complex bridges has been challenging due to non-stationary signal characteristics with a high level of noise. In this paper, a promising damage detection algorithm is proposed by incorporation of adaptive signal processing and Artificial...

An Adaptive Learning Game for Autistic Children using Reinforcement Learning and Fuzzy Logic

This paper, presents an adapted serious game for rating social ability in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The required measurements are obtained by challenges of the proposed serious game. The proposed serious game uses reinforcement learning concepts for being adaptive. It is based on fuzzy logic to evaluate the social ability level of the children with ASD. The game adapts itsel...
